Small habits that make customers come back.

⏱ 4 min Lesson 3 of 3

Receipt every time

Give a receipt for every sale — a VAT invoice if you are VAT-registered.

2

Show prices

Display prices clearly; charge what is displayed.

3

Clear returns

Decide your returns and exchange policy, and print it on the receipt.

4

Handle complaints

Listen, fix it fast, and record what went wrong.

📌What you need to know

  • A receipt protects you as much as the customer — it is your record of the sale.
  • VAT-registered businesses must issue VAT invoices through GRA's E-VAT system or approved software.
  • Prices that change at the counter lose customers' trust.
  • A customer whose complaint is handled well often becomes your most loyal one.

⚠️Common mistakes

Not giving receipts "to save paper".
Charging more than the displayed price.
Making up the returns policy on the spot.
💡
Tip. Ask happy customers for a WhatsApp review or a referral — it is the cheapest marketing there is.
